Bar & Restaurant Safety Measures

Here at Merlin Cinemas we are doing everything we can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit in-line with government guidelines.
The below measures will be in place in all of our bars & restaurants for the safety and well-being of you and our team.

Dining or Drinking

In England, though it is no longer mandatory, we recommend that customers continue to wear face coverings when moving around the venue.
In Scotland and Wales, customers must wear face coverings at all times except when eating or drinking. Children under 12, and those that are medically-exempt, are not required to wear a face covering.
In all our restaurants, groups will be automatically physically distanced by at least 1m from others.
At our restaurant in Thurso, Scotland on arrival please wait to be seated by a member of staff. We’re staggering bookings to reduce queues. While queuing and moving around the building, please try and keep at least 1m away from the person in front of you.
In Scotland up to 10 people from up to four households can now meet indoors – those from different households will though need to remain socially distanced. Children under 12 will not count against the total number of people or households.
We will continue to display the NHS Track and Trace/Trace and Protect posters and encourage customers to manually check-in when they arrive should they chose to do so, although it will no longer be mandatory for us to collect or for you to leave details.

Booking and Payments

Advance Booking is strongly advised but walk-ins will be accommodated where possible.
Please arrive in good time for your booking. We will hold your table for up to 15 minutes beyond the reservation time.
Please try to pay by card or contactless where possible. To make a booking or for further information contact the restaurant directly

Enhanced Cleaning Throughout
We’ll have more frequent and more thorough cleaning routines throughout the cinema, with extra controls in all toilet facilities.
Sanitising stations will be available on entry and at allocated points around the cinema.

Our Team
All cinema employees have been trained on the new safety and hygiene measures.
Personal Protective Equipment will be made available to staff - including face coverings, gloves and visors. As well as perspex screens at counters where possible.
We have strict guidelines for any of our colleagues who may begin to show early symptoms to stay away from the cinema. We would welcome all of our guests to do the same and stay home if they feel unwell. We will be assisting the NHS with Track and Trace where possible and customers have provided their details.

We have complied with the government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19. See our confirmation statement here
